VISIT OF ECONOMIC MISSION TO HANOI AND HO CHI MINH CITY, DECEMBER 9-14, 2002

A new era of economic co-operation between Vietnam and the Netherlands.
Today, at the beginning of a new millennium bilateral relations between Vietnam and the Netherlands are evolving rapidly. The Netherlands ranks 2 among the top EU investors in Vietnam. Prime Minister Pham Van Khai’s visit to the Netherlands in 2001 was a major landmark.
From 9- 14 December 2002, a Netherlands Trade Delegation, headed by Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, will visit Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city. The multifaceted nature of the delegation and the many fields of interest represented by the companies taking part will increase the co-operation between the two countries. Vietnamese and Dutch expertise will complement each other in fields such as construction, agriculture, food processing, energy, environmental technology, water management, ship building, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and education.
Well- known companies and organisations from the Netherlands such as Rotterdam Chamber of Commerce, Netherlands Foreign Trade Agency, Van Aarsen International, Damen Shipyards, Develing Trade, ED & F Man Spices, Heemhorst, Interbeton, Meyn Food Processing Technology, Peja (S.E.A), Stork Aqua, VCT Vietnam Consult & Trading, CHN University of Professional Education, Friesland College and the Association of Universities of Professional Education are represented in this delegation.
The Netherlands Embassy is convinced that this mission to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city will be successful and will pave the way for new epoch of fruitful economic co-operation between our two countries.
